At the beginning of the semester, use the blog to:

1) post new series ideas, or

2) post a new angle on an idea we discussed in class

Once we've locked in our series idea, use the blog between classes to:

1) post new story ideas

2) post feedback on ideas

3) finish breaking stories

4) add any new angles on stories we're breaking

Check in daily to see if anything new has been posted.

  1. New Premise

Stephanie and Jack are commercial pilots. They have been married for ten years, estranged the last three. They have avoided their relationship successfully with their jobs. They've just been laid off and now have to deal with each other. Both are at a fork in the road called their life. Stephanie grew up helping mom raise five brothers and sisters. She's never EVER wanted kids. The kicker is Stephanie is pregnant.

  2. This sounds like the story of my sister's life. Just replace pilot with Front office of NBA team.

  3. I like the idea, David! I think there is enough there to stretch it out over a web series or even longer.

With the five siblings, if they are still in her life, it could be a family comedy kind of like Arrested Development. Or it also has a great foundation for a drama as well and could really focus on the relationship and the situation they've been forced into.

That's just throwing out some thoughts... what kind of direction would you see it going in?

  4. Nice premise David. I like the idea but like most of the ideas I've been hearing so far (including and especially the dreaded Larping story...), it feels a little to "big" for a web series. On the other hand, if the series took place in the cockpit, we might have something...
